French AI startup Mistral AI is making headlines with the launch of its new chatbot, Le Chat, designed specifically for businesses. Just 100 days after unveiling its open-source version, the Paris-based company has already tripled its revenue, signaling massive growth and global demand for its enterprise AI tools.
Founded just two years ago, Mistral AI has quickly established itself as a rising star in the artificial intelligence space. The company launched Le Chat earlier this year, and now its enterprise version is officially available. What sets this version apart is its ability to integrate directly with popular content management platforms like Google Drive and Microsoft SharePoint, making it an attractive tool for large organizations looking to streamline internal operations.
In a press briefing, Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, shared that the startup’s growth has been particularly strong in Europe and outside the United States. “In the last 100 days, we’ve tripled our business,” Mensch said, highlighting the global appetite for trustworthy, non-U.S.-dependent AI solutions. He also mentioned that the company is seeing rapid adoption in the U.S., although most of its current demand is international.
Mistral AI is currently valued at $6 billion, although it does not officially disclose its revenue. However, industry reports estimate its 2024 revenue was around $30 million—a number expected to climb rapidly with this new launch.
One key selling point of Le Chat is data control and security. Unlike many AI services hosted exclusively on U.S.-based cloud platforms, Mistral gives companies the freedom to run the chatbot on their own cloud infrastructure, keeping sensitive data under internal management. This is a significant differentiator, especially for European companies navigating strict data privacy laws like GDPR.

Mistral has also made strides in independence from major cloud providers, operating its own compute infrastructure. This move reduces reliance on tech giants like Amazon or Google and gives Mistral more control over performance, cost, and security.
As global tensions rise over AI dominance and digital sovereignty, Mistral’s ability to offer a powerful, enterprise-grade chatbot that doesn’t rely on American infrastructure could give it a substantial edge—particularly in Europe and parts of Asia and Africa.
With the race for AI supremacy heating up and trust in tech infrastructure becoming more critical than ever, Mistral AI seems well-positioned to take on giants like OpenAI and Anthropic in the business sector.
