Nvidia is about to reshape Europe’s tech landscape. At the VivaTech conference in Paris on June 11, 2025, CEO Jensen Huang announced that the chip giant will establish its first industrial AI cloud platform in Germany, marking a massive step forward in the fusion of artificial intelligence and industry on the continent.

This new platform will be designed specifically for industrial applications, combining advanced AI with robotics to revolutionize processes across sectors. Major automotive players like BMW and Mercedes-Benz are expected to benefit from AI-driven innovations ranging from simulating product designs to streamlining logistics operations.

Europe’s AI Boom: 10x Growth in Two Years

During his near two-hour presentation, Huang revealed that Nvidia will increase Europe’s AI computing capacity tenfold within the next two years. Part of this plan includes:

  • Expanding Nvidia’s tech centers in seven European countries
  • Launching 20 state-of-the-art AI factories across the continent
  • Supporting AI model training in multiple European languages
  • Collaborating with pharmaceutical companies like Novo Nordisk on drug discovery

These AI “factories” are massive infrastructures built to develop, train, and deploy sophisticated AI models—ensuring that Europe remains competitive on a global scale.

“Europe has now awakened to the importance of AI factories and the need for AI infrastructure,” Huang declared, making it clear that the region is no longer content to trail behind the U.S. and China.

Strategic Partnerships and Sovereignty

Nvidia is also partnering with French AI company Mistral to build a powerful AI computing system running on 18,000 of Nvidia’s latest chips. This partnership aims to give European businesses a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving AI space.

Huang stressed the importance of “sovereign AI,” stating:

“No company, industry or nation can outsource its intelligence.”

This sentiment echoes growing concerns over dependency on foreign technologies and highlights Nvidia’s role in strengthening Europe’s AI autonomy.

Germany in the Spotlight

While the exact location, cost, and timeline for the AI cloud facility in Germany remain under wraps, the move is seen as a win for the new German government, especially after past setbacks involving Intel and Wolfspeed. Sources say Huang is set to meet with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin this Friday to possibly finalize details.

The Quantum Future

Beyond AI, Huang also touched on the rising potential of quantum computing. While previously skeptical, he now believes that in the near future, quantum systems could solve problems beyond even Nvidia’s most advanced AI chips.

The message is clear: the future of computing is not just artificial—it’s revolutionary.
