A devastating Russian missile attack hit the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih on Wednesday night, leaving four people dead and injuring 32 others. Rescuers worked tirelessly through the night and into Thursday morning, searching for survivors trapped beneath the rubble.

Survivors Narrowly Escape Tragedy

The missile struck a hotel where a group of humanitarian volunteers from Ukraine, the U.S., and Britain had just checked in. Fortunately, they managed to take shelter in time and survived the attack, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Kryvyi Rih, Zelenskyy’s hometown, has been a frequent target since Russia launched its full-scale invasion three years ago. The Ukrainian president condemned the attack, stating, “We must not pause in putting pressure on Russia to stop this war and terror against life.”

Emergency services reported that 19 people were rescued from the site. Photos shared online showed the devastating aftermath—fire crews battling flames, a partially collapsed five-story building, and emergency responders climbing through debris in search of survivors. Regional authorities confirmed that two children were among the wounded.

Russia’s Continued Attacks on Ukraine’s Infrastructure

In addition to the attack on Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine’s military reported that Russian forces launched two ballistic missiles and 112 drones overnight, targeting multiple locations across the country.

A postal depot in Sumy, northeastern Ukraine, was also struck by Russian drones, igniting a massive fire that destroyed the facility along with over 2,500 parcels. One person was killed in the attack. Nova Poshta, the company operating the warehouse, released images showing the completely burnt-out facility, with packages reduced to rubble and ash.

Meanwhile, in the southern region of Odesa, drones targeted energy infrastructure, leaving two people injured. The ongoing strikes have put Ukraine’s energy sector under severe strain, with DTEK, the country’s largest private energy company, confirming that this was the fifth facility damaged in just two weeks.

“Russia continues its energy terror of Odesa region,” the company stated on Telegram. The Ukrainian government reported that approximately 10,000 households in the Odesa region were left without power, with repair teams working around the clock to restore electricity.

Russia’s War on Ukraine: No Signs of Letting Up

Moscow has maintained a relentless campaign of missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure since the war began, often causing widespread blackouts and disruption to daily life. With attacks intensifying, Ukraine continues to call for stronger international support to counter Russian aggression.

As the world watches the ongoing devastation unfold, the need for continued humanitarian aid and military assistance remains critical. The Ukrainian government insists that international pressure on Russia is essential to ending the war and preventing further loss of life.
